Copying, republication or modification of this website in whole or part is strictly prohibited.

Ring sizing

We will either take your ring size in person, or if this is not possible, we will send appropriate sizing information, and advise in collaboration with you to decide the correct size according to your comfort. If the piece is for a surprise, we will provide advice and assistance as necessary.

We will resize a bespoke ring if it is not right first time, please be aware we need to charge a fee for this which we will state in correspondence. As each piece is unique, we need to cost piece by piece depending on the complexity of the ring. Ring resizing is gratuitous within 6 months of receiving bespoke piece, if small increments. Please read more about sizing in the blog regarding circumstantial sizing fluctuations.

Chains

With regards to jewellery inclusive of chains, we are not responsible for replacement or refund should it become damaged or break.

In the very rare event of a manufacturing fault, we will refer you to the original supplier and chain manufacturer after assessment.

Cancellations

If you make a mistake when ordering please contact us as soon as possible. We are unable to accept cancellations on bespoke, customised or personalised orders already in production. Deposits paid for bespoke, customised or personalised items are non-refundable.

Social Media & Marketing

From time to time, Katie Lees Jewellery may post 'progress' and 'finished' photographs of bespoke jewellery on our social media feeds. If you place an order of a bespoke piece and would prefer us not to do this at the time of making, then please do let us know. If your order is a special gift and you would like us to hold off of posting images on social media until you have given the gift, please make us aware of this at the time of payment, so we can include this in your project details. Please also provide us with the date of when we are able to post photographs of the finished item(s).

All finished bespoke jewellery will be photographed and images will be posted on our social media pages and on katieleesjewellery.co.uk unless expressed otherwise by the customer.

Bespoke jewellery

Consultations for bespoke pieces are free. During the consultation, drawing and notes of your requested design and specifications will be made. Once you are happy with your final drawing and design specifications for your project, have confirmed via email that all details are correct, and that you are ready to go ahead, we can proceed with your order. A deposit is required before commencement of all bespoke projects and will vary depending on the budget of the final piece(s). The deposit is a percentage of the approximate final costing and will be confirmed when ordering. The deposit is non-refundable. You can expect to pay 20% if less than £1000 and upwards of 40% if over £1,000. Your deposit paid will be deducted from the final balance due. Please note any quotes received are valid for 14 days from date of issue due to the fluctuations in metal prices. We do reserve the right to change a quote within this time frame is there is a change in metal prices, but this is a rare occurrence.

Once a drawing has been agreed on, the client has to honour this agreement. Katie Lees Jewellery cannot be held accountable for any changes to personal views on reflection after work on the piece has commenced. Please note we will match the drawing as closely as possible when translated into your precious metal jewellery, but please bear in mind that any sketches are just an indication of how the finished jewellery will look- and because the jewellery is hand made and hand cut, some slight variations from the sketch and the final finished jewellery can occur.

Once an order for bespoke jewellery has been placed and deposit paid, we take this as acceptance of our terms and conditions on bespoke jewellery. No major changes can be made once you have confirmed the design and once you have paid, and your order cannot be cancelled or refunded. Any changes made to an order after acceptance of specifications and payment may incur a charge. No refunds will be given on any bespoke piece of jewellery at any time.

The final balance can be paid in full on completion of work, or split in two, the first being if any wax/master patterns have to be approved, the second (final) or remaining must be paid on completion of work. It is courteous to pay the final amount on completion of work, and any arrangement to pick up work must not interfere with the job being completed. This causes delay in cash flow and can be the detriment to a small business. A photo of completed work can be provided for approval, if there is a delay between completion and pick up.

Alterations may be made after a bespoke piece has been received will incur an additional charge. Katie Lees Jewellery will be happy to help but this will not be included in your original price.

If you’d like to discuss the practicality and wearability of your bespoke jewellery idea before proceeding, we’re more than happy to help. Please note, jewellery will tarnish over time.

By agreeing to go ahead with any bespoke piece, you accept these terms and conditions

Storage of jewellery for remodelling

Under your contract signed at point of commission, our insurance covers the storage of your jewellery for a period of four months only. If you decide not to proceed with your commissioned piece after this time, your jewellery will be returned to you.
